In 2001, I visited my first Garden Show and Tour in Eufaula, Alabama. It was the weekend of the Pilgrimage. I was amazed at the beauty of each garden we visited and came home inspired and determined to create the same environment on our property.

Thus began a 5-year journey that brings us where we are today: NOT FINISHED!!! Why are we not finished? I had the perfect plan, all drawn out on the computer in stages. All should have fallen in place just perfectly, except for one thing I did not expect...
to become obsessed with GARDENING!

In the last 5 years, we have added a small fish pond, several garden rooms, a gazebo with a wood-burning pizza oven and large pit for any type of bbq, and on and on! We complete (almost) one project and are quickly moving on to another. We most definitely will never finish! But, we don't care because we are having the time of our life creating beautiful landscapes!

Much of my inspiration for gardening, as well as many other things in life, came from my mother. She passed away on February 13, 2008, and on that day, this world lost one of the most inspirational and compassionate people that has ever graced our world.

She gardened all of her life. She grew up in a time of life and in a farming community where growing your food was necessary. When she married and began her own family, growing our food was not only second nature to her, but something she did with pure joy. She never stopped gardening, but later in life, she changed from huge fields of vegetables to beautiful roses, tulips, and many others types of flowering plants and shrubs. She still liked the vegetables and always grew a few tomatoes and peppers for chow-chow, but the beautiful colors became the focus of her gardening expertise.

No one could bring the best out of people and flowers like my mother. She planted a flower and it bloomed. She loved people and they knew they were loved. She made a difference in so many lives! We miss you, Mother and guess what? Your flowers are still blooming!

In memory of our Mother, we are constructing a memory garden. Details and photos coming soon. Check back often.
